Why It is Necessary to Incorporate Natural Ingredients in Body Care Regimens
With the increased use of chemical ingredients in beauty products, it is prudent to take a pause and analyze the contents of what is being applied on the skin. After all, would you be putting something on your body if you cannot even bear to eat it?
1. Benefits of Natural Soaps for the Body and Exfoliating
For instance, for my whole body, I prefer organic beeswax soap or natural olive oil soap without any harmful ingredients incorporated in its production. These soaps provide cleansing without the introduction of toxins or stripping the skin of its own natural oils. To illustrate, for any exfoliation, I use natural loofah which is very effective in getting rid of dead skin without any harsh synthetic products being used.
2. Natural Care for the Skin and Hair
As for skincare, for example, I have plenty of homemade beef tallow that nourishes hair and is usable as a cream for the face. Being rich in oils, beef tallow easily gets absorbed and replaces the lost moisture for very dry skin surfaces.
Moreover, I have also used castor oil as a hair oil which I found useful because its thicker consistency is effective for managing dry and damaged hair as well as enhancing my curls and shaping my natural waves. After cleaning, I usually take a 100% cotton microfibre towel and use it to wrap my hair since it prevents the hair from breakage and gets dry hair without causing frizz. This method of drying is very suitable for curls as they dry without getting lost.
3. Dangers of Deodorants and Perfumes
And when it comes to deodorants, I do not opt for any of those toxic ones. Luckily, I have come across a natural deodorant that suited my needs perfectly even though I can hardly remember the scent. This is thanks to my diet which plays a major component in helping me remain odor-free making it hard for any unpleasant smells to be carried by my sweat.
I have, however, eliminated any fragrances that could be classified as perfumes from my usage altogether. They contain a lot of.synthetic fragrance ingredients which are present in most commercially available scents.
4. Ecological Dentifrice
As far as oral hygiene is concerned, I avoid toothpaste with fluoride, and I use a natural toothpaste made from clay to scrub my teeth. A sustainable toothbrush made of bamboo, which I also use, is less harmful to the environment than plastic ones. This little alteration assists in curbing plastic waste while upholding oral cleanliness.
5. Organic shaving routine.
I use a stainless steel rescue razor for shaving as it is eco-friendly and also long lasting. I only replace the interior blade after some time hence causing less waste. To moisturize my skin and avoid cuts, I apply coconut oil which works well because it nourishes the skin and helps in wiping the skin and avoiding cuts while shaving.

6. Making Detrgent at Home
Laundry detergents and softeners are commonly known products but people are not aware of the chemicals they expose themselves to when using them. They contain a lot of endocrine disrupting chemicals which attaches to our clothes and penetrates to the skin. This is why I do not purchase laundry soap from the shop but prepare it at home. I go for this particular Russian soap which comes in bars and is made specifically for washing powder production. I use such powders for the preparation of the natural and eco-friendly wash powder along with baking soda, vinegar and water. This quick mixture works to clean dresses effectively without using the harmful conventional laundry cleaners.
7. Chemical- And Caring-Natural Hair
Hair care can also be done in a more moderate manner. For example, I do avoid the use of dry shampoo, for it can contribute to hair thinning and scalp problems in the long run. Instead, I have trained my hair to be washed on a less often basis and if it is a particularly greasy day, I will go for Dr. Bronner’s solid soap or olive oil soap whenever I need a wash but am not in the mood for so much scrubbing.
